Concept - Aptitude Simplification Basics-1

Before enter into concepts need to go through some basics of numerical aptitude.

Aptitude or Numerical Ability / Quantitative Aptitude is very simple and easy, if practice some Rules and Tricks. .... !

 

Multiplication by 5:

 

Tip: Multiplication by 5 : Rule 5 = 10/2


Eg 1 : 12345 x 5 = ?;

First divide number 12345 / 2 = 6172.5 then 6172.5 x 10 = 61725 (decimal number .5 comes rightside last of the number)

if there is no decimal ZERO comes rightside last of the number

 

Eg 2 : 346 x 5 = ?

First divide number 346 / 2 = 173 then 173 x 10 = 1730 or Add Zero to 173 (1730)

 

Practice following multiplication by 5:

1)42 x 5 = ?

2)12345 x 5 = ?

3)45621 x 5 = ?

4)301215 x 5 = ?

5)98432025 x 5 = ?

Multiplication by 11:


Tip! : Multiplication by 11 : Rule - Add adjacent numbers from right to left!


Eg.1)for 2 Digit Numbers: 25 x 11 = 275

Solution:First and Last Number should be same i.e. 2 and 5 (Number 7 (2+5) comes between 2 and 5) So 25x11 is 275

 

Eg.2)for 3 or more Digit Numbers: 243 x 11 = 2673

Solution:First of all first and last number are same i.e. 2 and 3 then add adjacent number 7 (4x3) and 6(2+4) So 243x11=2673
