2.Compound Partnership

Simple Partnership:-

Compound Partnership:-
If the capitals of the partnership are invested for different lengths of time, the partnership is called compound.

Types of partners:
There are two kinds of partners
1.Working partner and
2.Sleeping partner

Working partner:-
Working partner is one who manages the business

Sleeping partner:-
Sleeping partner is one who provides capital but does not attend to the business.
Note: Profit directly depends on capital and time
Profit = CapitalĀ  Time

Eg 1 :A started a business by investing Rs.60,000. Six months later B joined him by investing Rs.1,40,000. After another six months A added Rs.1,20,000 to his investment. At the end of two years from the commencement of the business, they earn a profit of Rs.4,65,000. What is A's share in the profit?

Solution:

Profit Ratio = (60,000 * 24 + 1,20,000 * 12 ) : 1,40,000 * 18

A's Share : A started business 2 years (24 months ) before with Rs.60,000 * 24); After B's joining i.e. 6 months + another 6 months = 12 * 120000

B's Share : After 6 months means 24-6 = 18 months * 140000

=>(14,40,000 + 14,40,000) : 25,20,000

=>288 : 252 = 8:7

24 : 21 ->8:7

Therefore A's share is 8/15*4,65,000 = 2,48,000
